Cecilia Lavin, Head of EMEA Sales at One World Rental, has been appointed as the new Regional Vice President EMEA for the International Live Events Association (ILEA), following the end of tenure for her predecessor, Jane Hague, from ExCeL London.
Overseeing the Europe, Asia, Middle East and Nigeria Chapters of the global association, Cecilia will be supporting regional leadership teams to create an inclusive and inspiring global community that develops and engages event professionals; as well as continuing to be a leading voice for the creative events industry.
One of the first tasks under Cecilia’s leadership will be overseeing the newly reformed ILEA Europe Chapter, which sees the UK Chapter and pre-existing Europe Chapter consolidate to create one unified European leadership team and membership base.
Commenting on her appointment, Cecilia states: “Having been involved with ILEA on a regional and international level for 10 years, I am excited to have the opportunity to work directly with our growing chapters across EMEA and Asia. Following on from a difficult 18-months for our industry, we have looked at ways to streamline our efforts and ensure that ILEA continues to deliver membership value as well as provide a supportive, global community as we rebuild together in the years ahead.”
Cecilia will report to the incoming International Board of Governors including the new International President Corinne Kessel CSEP, Principal of Greenscape Design & Decor, based in British Columbia, Canada.
Speaking of Cecilia’s appointment, Corinne said, “In the role of Regional Vice President of EMEA, Cecilia will play a critical role in bringing our ILEA International strategies to our incredible EMEA members and chapter leaders. Through the power of collaboration and communication, Cecilia will deliver ILEA’s brand voice and member value across the EMEA landscape for the next year.” She continues, “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jane Hague for her hard work and dedication to our association in her role as RVP EMEA over the past 2 years”.
