To mark its 10-year anniversary, Euphonica – one of the UK’s leading events entertainment agencies – is stepping forward with a pledge: to bring scientific insight into how shared music experiences connect people, and to put that research into practice across every event.
This landmark initiative aims to transform how live music is used to connect people at events. Marking a decade of crafting unforgettable musical moments for private clients, global brands, and wedding celebrations, the company today announces a new partnership with Dr Renée Timmers, Professor of Music Psychology at the University of Sheffield.
The collaboration will centre on exploring the psychological and social impact of shared live music experiences and how these moments can be designed to deepen connection, belonging, and collective emotion at events of all kinds.
Throughout its ten years in business, Euphonica has operated on a simple belief: live music is one of the most powerful tools we have for bringing people together. From dancefloors at corporate celebrations to intimate wedding performances, the agency has consistently seen music’s unique ability to dissolve barriers and unite groups.
Now, Euphonica is taking its long-held intuition and operational expertise a step further by grounding it in scientific research.
Dr Timmers’ work examines how live music influences emotion, empathy, synchronisation, and group cohesion – elements central to unforgettable events. Dr Timmers explains:
- It synchronises our brains and bodies. Collective rhythm can quite literally align heartbeats and brainwave patterns, increasing group cohesion and empathy.
- It triggers emotional openness. Live music evokes emotion rapidly and powerfully, creating a shared emotional climate among a group of people.
- It bridges diversity. Age, background, profession, culture – music dissolves these divides with astonishing ease.
- It creates shared memory. The song that had everyone singing or the track that filled the dancefloor becomes a lasting anchor for collective recall and storytelling.

This partnership will inform Euphonica’s approach to curation, performance design, and client consultation, ensuring that every event – whether a private dinner, a corporate gathering, or a large-scale celebration – is intentionally crafted to foster genuine human connection.
Dan Savidge, Founder of Euphonica, explains; “For ten years, we’ve watched live music bring strangers together, break the ice in corporate rooms, and create the kind of shared joy that people remember years later. Partnering with Dr Timmers allows us to take what we’ve always believed and seen firsthand, and root it in research. By deepening our understanding in this way, we’re able to enhance the experience we deliver and ultimately raise the quality of service for our clients. This is about elevating events- not just musically, but emotionally and socially.”
“Live music has a remarkable capacity to synchronise emotions, movements, and experiences between people” shares Dr Timmers. “I’m excited to work with Euphonica to explore how these principles can be used intentionally in real-world event settings, creating environments where people feel connected and uplifted.”
Since its founding in 2016, Euphonica has grown into a trusted partner for clients seeking world-class musicians, DJs and curated line-ups for corporate events, weddings, private parties, and luxury brand activations. The agency’s roster spans a wealth of performers, from classical ensembles and jazz trios to high-energy bands and specialist DJs.
This collaboration underscores Euphonica’s commitment not only to exceptional musical quality but to creating experiences that truly bring people together.
