Fifteen years ago, a 25-year-old Gilly Bain founded a business in her grandmother’s spare room in North Berwick, backed by her grandmother’s £3,000 gift to get started. That business, then known as YOURGB, has grown into a multi-million-pound experiential design and event production collective – and this summer, it’s stepping into its next chapter with a new name: YourScene.
The rebrand marks not just a change of name but a deliberate evolution – from a founder-led venture into a multidisciplinary creative team of 17, delivering immersive experiences for clients across the UK and internationally, while remaining independent.
The new name retires the founder’s initials in favour of something that speaks to what the business has become. “Scene” works on two levels: a nod to scenography and set design, the design-led craft at the heart of the team’s work, and a deeper belief that the best experiences make people stop, feel something, and take notice. That thinking is captured in the brand’s new positioning: “Make a Scene.”
YourScene’s client roster reads like a who’s who of global brands, including Sony Music, Disney+, Hendrick’s, Penguin Books, TSB, Netflix, Monkey Shoulder, NBCUniversal, Helly Hansen, Johnson & Johnson, P&O Cruises and The R&A. Headquartered in Edinburgh, with a network of specialist collaborators across Glasgow, London and New York, the collective designs brand activations, product launches, conferences, incentive travel, luxury private celebrations and destination experiences.
The rebrand follows a period of significant growth, underpinned by senior appointments including Amy Coultate as Head of Events, Kimberly Barr as Head of Client Partnerships, and Louis Matthewman as Senior Experience Designer and Luxury Events Specialist, the latter helping drive the collective’s expansion into the luxury sector.
Sustainability sits at the core of the business too. YourScene is a Certified B Corporation™ and accredited Carbon Neutral Organisation and has developed its own Event Carbon Calculator with Carbon Footprint Ltd to help clients understand and reduce the carbon impact of their events on the road to Net Zero.
For founder Gilly Bain, the timing felt right. “Fifteen years felt like the right moment to evolve,” she says.
“What started in my Grandma’s spare room with her £3,000 gift has grown into something far bigger than me. Today, we’re a team of 17 incredibly talented people – creative strategists, producers, experience designers and technical specialists – delivering immersive experiences all over the world, and our name needed to reflect that.”
She’s clear the change is about evolution, not reinvention. “While the name is changing, the values that got us here absolutely aren’t,” she adds.
“This feels less like a rebrand and more like the start of our next chapter.”
YourScene officially launched on 21 July 2026, with ambitious plans to grow its team across the UK and internationally, expand further into the luxury and experiential space, and build a globally recognised experiential design collective.
