YADA Events can today announce the launch of the 2018 YADA Academy – a 12 week intensive training programme for 11 selected interns.

Applications were invited from students from all over the UK and from a variety of university courses. The 12 week programme has been developed to give the interns hands-on experience throughout the whole company and of all aspects of the business and the events it supports.

The programme encompasses workshops and real life experience in topics including project management, event creation, sales techniques, sponsorship, technology, social media, marketing and merchandising.

Mehram Sumray-Roots, product director and co-founder of YADA said: “I was really impressed with the calibre and diversity of applicants this year; many of them are studying subjects outside of the events industry, so they bring a really varied dynamic to our business. Our academy is designed to give real life business experience and education to our interns whilst enabling us to tap into and utilise their skills, passion and enthusiasm. The YADA Academy is now in its third year; each academy has been bigger than the year before, and each year we employ at least two interns.”

Guest speakers will be leading weekly workshops; each one chosen to help the interns hone their business and communication skills – in subjects including event PR, personal branding, health and wellbeing and public speaking.

The YADA Academy 2018 will run throughout the summer and ends in September with the Freshers Festival – the UK’s biggest student event in Glasgow and London.
