Ellivent has announced that Tony Uphoff has joined the Ellivent Advisory Board. Ellivent is a San Diego-based startup that aims to change the way marketing teams plan their attendance at trade shows. The Ellivent exhibitor platform includes bespoke tools to simplify trade show attendance planning and a framework for measuring the ROI of trade shows. With a database of hundreds of trade shows and vendors, Ellivent also helps companies find new shows and connect with the right vendors.

“Ellivent is wrapping its arms around one of the last big areas to be disrupted by technology,” said Uphoff. “The trade show model as we know it is ripe for innovation and disruption.”

Tony Uphoff is currently the president and CEO of Thomas, a leader in product sourcing, supplier selection and marketing solutions for the industry. Prior to Thomas, Uphoff led the turn-around and rebuild of both Business.com and UBM TechWeb. He is an industry expert on media, marketing, and technology and a regular speaker at industry conferences and leading business schools.

Uphoff serves on the boards of the HIMMS Media Group (a B2B media group for healthcare and technology markets), SIIA (Software and Information Industry Association) and as a board trustee for Linfield College.

Greg Crisci, CEO of Ellivent commented: “We are so happy to have Tony as an advisor. He has a track record of building, growing, and transforming the businesses he has been involved with. We know that Tony’s deep experience within B2B Marketplaces, technology, and trade shows will help Ellivent change the trade show landscape for the better.”
