On 6th November 2019, The Mermaid London in Blackfriars will host The Business of Events coveted Senior Leadership Forum and Reception.

The event attracts over 200 senior executives from across the UK and European event industry, along with government officials, industry media and influencers. This year’s programme will focus on opportunities surrounding the government’s recently announced Tourism Sector Deal and Business Events Action Plan.

Alicia Duncan, venue director at The Mermaid London, commented: “Since the launch of The Business of Events in 2017, we have been advocates of its power to bring together industry influencers, stakeholders and senior leaders to discuss the growth of the UK event industry.

“It is our honour to be the host venue for the Senior Leadership Forum and Reception, and we look forward to welcoming attendees for what will be an engaging educational event.”

Speaking about The Business of Events, Michael Hirst OBE, chair of the Events Industry Board, said: “The Business of Events series provides the perfect platform for senior leaders to discuss the shape of the meeting and event industry. This is an excellent opportunity for us all to start talking about the new Tourism Sector Deal and the International Business Events Action Plan and what it means for the sector. It is a truly exciting time for the UK meeting and event industry.”

The 2019 programme for The Business of Events includes its first international event which will take place ahead of IBTM World in Barcelona. The programme also features events in Wales and Scotland. The Business of Events is a not-for-profit series of independent cross sector events designed to engage, support and promote the UK event industry.
