The Business of Events confirms ExCeL London as latest official partner

The Business of Events has confirmed ExCeL London as its latest official partner for its 2019 programme of events.

ExCeL London joins IBTM, Visit Wales, ICC Wales, VisitScotland Business Events, The Mermaid London and Cvent as official partners for 2019.

The Business of Events kicks off its 2019 programme with its flagship event, the Senior Leadership Forum, at its new venue, The Mermaid London, on 6th November. Also taking place in London will be the Parliamentary Debate, held at Portcullis House in partnership with the All Party Parliamentary Group for Events, and a Senior Leaders Dinner, both taking place on 7th November.

James Rees, executive director, ExCeL London and current ICCA President said: “World-leading events staged in the UK are a catalyst for economic growth, driving billions of pounds of import and export activity. As the UK’s leading exhibition and convention centre, it is our responsibility to demonstrate leadership and commitment to our industry.

“We are partnering with The Business of Events to ensure that collectively our voices are heard across local and national Government, to communicate the positive economic and social impact that events deliver and to maintain the UK’s reputation as a globally recognised events destination.”

There will be three further events as part of the wider programme – The Business of Events Wales, which will be held at the newly opened ICC Wales in Newport; the Global Policy & Practice Forum, held at Hotel Seventy in Barcelona ahead of IBTM World; and The Business of Events Scotland, which will be held at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.

The Business of Events is also being supported by a number of leading organisations from across the sector including the Business Visits and Events Partnership; Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport; All Party Parliamentary Group UK Events Industry; HBAA; APBCO; PCMA; MPI; ICCA; UKInbound; IACC; and the Joint Meetings Industry Council.
