Celebrations were rife at Sunshine Events after the Preston-based firm claimed two highly prestigious business awards.
Specialising in hiring out quality fun equipment for corporate events of all sizes across the UK, the firm, known as the Fun Experts, fought off several businesses to claim both the Creative Business of the Year and Service Business of the Year awards at the coveted 2018 Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs).
A stringent process, Sunshine Events completed initial applications and an interview stage which was followed by judges’ visits, who really put the microscope on the business operations against strict criteria, before being crowned winners of both categories at a ceremony held in Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
“We’re absolutely over the moon to win not one but two awards,” said Sunny Sandwell, director of fun at the business.
“To win both awards is a testament to the hard work that each one of our valued team puts in day in, day out. We’ve worked extremely hard throughout the year to be the best at what we do and to be recognised in two categories we really do specialise in makes it all the more worthwhile.
“We won’t be stopping there though as we never want to rest on our laurels and will keep on improving and maintain our status as the leaders of our industry.”
The BIBAs are Lancashire’s largest and longest running business awards programme, organised by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
The awards also saw Sunshine Events named as finalists in the Leisure & Tourism Business of the Year, Employer of the Year whilst Director, James Sandwell was also shortlisted in the Business Person of the Year category. Last year, the firm claimed its first ever BIBAs winning both the Employer of the Year and Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) categories.
Mark Oulson-Jenkins, BIBAs Creative Business of the Year judge and Executive Producer at RTR TV, added: “Sunshine Events have a unique core message which is to put fun and positivity at the heart of everything they do.
“Driving their business and its growth on the happiness of staff and clients pushes their creativity to new levels and myself and the other BIBAS judges felt this made them the standout company within their category and were very much the winner for us this year.”
Founded 15 years ago by Sunny and James Sandwell, Sunshine Events has gone from strength to strength and prides itself on its award-winning customer service, with its top review ratings on the Customer Sure site.
