The East of England Arena and Events Centre has been selected by James Dean Events as the new venue for the Peterborough Sausage and Cider Festival, July 27-29, 2018; the sister event to the popular Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Essex Festivals, which together attract tens of thousands of visitors every summer.

James Dean, managing director of James Dean Events, outlined why East of England Arena had been chosen as the new venue, saying “The East of England Arena is a renowned venue, but more importantly it has the necessary festival infrastructure like extensive hard standing, internal roads and dedicated camping areas, and with over 200 acres of level, drained open space available, it offers us tremendous scope for growth and expansion.”

Dean Rees, business development manager at East of England Arena and Events Centre welcomed the decision from James Dean Events saying, “It’s a real pleasure to welcome the Sausage and Cider Festival to our venue, we’ve got everything it needs right here, including a venue team with decades of festivals experience, and we’re all looking forward to helping to deliver an event to remember.”

The family-oriented festival will offer camping for 3000 people and is expected to attract up to 2,500 people every day to sample dozens of ciders and sausages in every form, from hot dogs to artisan sausage pizza. Entertainments range from ball pools and soft play areas for the youngest festivalgoers, to live music from leading tribute acts and local bands. The festival is also working to drastically reduce the use of plastic, and this year there will be no plastic straws, forks or containers. All cups will be reusable and festival essentials like body glitter and cable ties will all be biodegradable.
