The Natural History Museum is one of London’s most iconic venues with magnificent architecture and collections, creating the perfect backdrop for any event. From informal and intimate to creative and spectacular, the Museum’s unique variety of spaces will suit any corporate event, private party or wedding.

The Museum offers a range of extraordinary indoor and outdoor spaces to host the perfect summer party. The spacious amphitheatre-style Darwin courtyard offers an informal outdoor space when compared to the grandeur of Hintze Hall that’s able to host an unforgettable event and experience for guests.

The Venue Hire team is pleased to be working with KERB caterers and FullCircle events supplier to offer summer party packages in the Darwin Centre and Courtyard in 2019, with prices starting from £66 per person.

The packages include:

  • Contemporary Darwin Centre private landscaped courtyard
  •  Access 17.00-22.00 (guest arrival 19.00)
  • Unlimited house wine, beer and soft drinks
  • 3 savoury street food items per person from a choice of over 70 options
  • Deck chairs and summer festival bunting
  • Live acoustic band
  • Staffed cloakroom, security team and toilet attendants
  • Full event management support

Another exciting addition for a limited period of 2019 will be the Museum of the Moon installation by artist Luke Jerram. From Friday 17th May until Sunday 8th September 2019, event organisers will have the exclusive opportunity to host their events under the incredible moon in the Jerwood Gallery, a space not previously available for private hire. The world renowned art installation, measuring six metres in diameter, features detailed NASA imagery to perfectly recreate the moon’s surface.

On arrival, guests can enjoy a drinks reception in the summer sun in the modern Darwin Centre courtyard, before moving through to the stunning nineteenth-century Waterhouse architecture of the Jerwood Gallery. The gallery’s gilt and terracotta ceiling panels, stained glass windows and the moon installation will provide an elegant backdrop for summer events; from weddings and summer parties to dinners and networking events.

The unique space can seat up to 300 guests for dinner and will be available from 19:00 – 00:00 for private hire (guests may extend the hire until 03:00 subject to availability and an additional fee).

The Natural History Museum’s extensive list of experienced suppliers will also be on hand to transform the space to bespoke specifications. Complementing the moon through beautifully themed catering, floristry and production, the suppliers will create an extraordinary experience for guests.

Larger and more formal parties can also be hosted indoors in the splendour of Hintze Hall accompanied by Hope the blue whale or in the airy Earth Hall.
