Johnsons Coach Travel of Henley-in-Arden has beaten off competition from coach tour operators from across the UK to win a prestigious award at the National Coach Tourism Awards 2019.

The family firm bagged the award for ‘Coach Tour Operator of the Year’ (large fleet) on Wednesday 20th March 2019 at The British Motor Museum. Presented this year by TV personality, Carol Vorderman, these awards were created to recognise excellence and innovation across coach tour operators, tourist destinations, attractions and industry suppliers, and are judged by a panel of experts.

In giving the award, the presenter said: “With a high standard of presentation, our winner in this category clearly stood out due to their unwavering commitment to the customer which ultimately made the judges want to travel with them.”

John Johnson, commercial director of Johnsons Coach Travel, collected the award with his team in front of more than 400 tourism industry professionals. Commenting on the company’s success, Mr Johnson says: “We were up against some fantastic businesses, so we were really thrilled and extremely proud to win this top award. Our success is a testament to the amazing team we have at Johnsons and their commitment to providing the best possible experience for everyone who steps on board our coaches.”

For the Large Coach Tour Operator category, the judges looked for a company with 15+ tour coaches that demonstrates a commitment to quality, innovation and training. The winner would need to demonstrate an excellent industry reputation as well as examples of how it has developed/enhanced its product over the last year.

“The coach tourism industry is becoming ever more sophisticated,” says Mr Johnson, “and customers have high expectations, so we are delighted that the quality and variety of our holiday and excursion products have been recognised by our industry peers.”

Johnsons Coach Travel specialises in providing coaches for private hire to businesses, events, groups, school, clubs and private individuals. The company also provides coach holidays and day trips and will be celebrating their 110th anniversary this year.
