Roder UK, a leading supplier of temporary and permanent modular structures, smashed its sustainability tree-planting target in the first six months of the year, planting more than 132 trees by the end of June.
The company set an initiative in January to plant a tree for each new social media follower, newsletter subscriber and order placed. Initially, the plan was to plant at least 52 trees in the year – one for each week.
In June alone Roder UK planted 43 trees.
The trees have been planted in the company’s local area in Cambridgeshire – including the wetlands in Fenland – and in parts of Scotland.
Roder UK Managing Director Lee Dalton said: “We are really proud that we have gone above and beyond our original target. It’s down to everyone that supports us – be that our clients or email subscribers.
“Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us, and planting trees is just one initiative which shows our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint as a company.”
Roder UK has supplied structures to the UK’s live events, sports, commercial and industrial sectors for more than 50 years, offering purchase, leasing and long-term rental options across a wide range of temporary and permanent modular structures.
Alongside its tree-planting initiative, Roder UK continues to invest in practical ways to reduce the environmental impact of its operations.
The company recently delivered more than 10,000 square metres of temporary structures for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Sandringham Flower Show, with all build deliveries carried out in partnership with electric haulage specialist, Voltloader.
The collaboration, which began at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2025, has significantly reduced delivery-related carbon emissions by replacing traditional diesel transport with a fully electric fleet, reflecting Roder UK’s ongoing commitment to more sustainable logistics across the events sector.
