One of the world’s biggest live motorsport events will be roaring its way into Coventry next year as part of a limited run of UK dates.

Monster Jam®, the larger-than-life sport that always leaves you entertained, is bringing its action-packed live show to Ricoh Arena’s stadium bowl on Saturday 8 June 2019 for a day of jaw-dropping stunts and unforgettable entertainment.

The Coventry-based venue has been chosen as one of four UK locations to welcome the unexpected, unscripted and unforgettable motorsport event, which is organised by Feld Entertainment – the American production company responsible for popular shows such as Disney On Ice and Marvel Universe LIVE!

Expert drivers will compete in both exhilarating championship racing and gravity-defying freestyle competitions over the course of the evening. Spectators will see the mammoth vehicles perform wheelies, donuts and big air stunts.

Monster Jam trucks are 12-feet-tall and weigh up to four-and-a-half tonnes, and are powered by super-charged engines that generate more than 1,500 horsepower.

They have been known to reach as high as 35 feet in the air at Monster Jam’s thrilling live shows, and can only be handled by the most skilled and experienced of drivers.

“Monster trucks are revered by millions of families worldwide so to have Monster Jam rolling into Ricoh Arena for the first time is a ground-breaking move for us,” said Stuart Cain, Commercial Director at Wasps Group.

“Monster Jam combines the best stunt drivers with the world’s biggest trucks and to have them performing on our doorstep is a real coup for the city of Coventry.

“This global event also reinforces Ricoh Arena as a multi-purpose venue and the role that it plays in helping to put Coventry on the map as a leading destination for a variety of live events.

“It is going to be an exciting evening that the whole family can enjoy and we’re looking forward to welcoming monster truck lovers from across the UK and beyond to Ricoh Arena.

“Monster Jam completes a stellar month of activity for Ricoh Arena which also includes a Bon Jovi gig, the two-day Soundscape Weekender music festival, and two Spice Girls concerts.”

Jayme Dalsing, Senior Director of Global Monster Jam Operations, added: “Year-after-year, our Monster Jam athletes push the limit to what these trucks can do.

“There’s no other event on the planet that provides the edge-of-your-seat entertainment that Monster Jam does, and we’re excited to bring this to Coventry in 2019.”

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Wednesday 12 December and are available from www.ricoharena.com/monsterjam.
