The art deco Great Hall (www.qmgreathall.co.uk) within the iconic People’s Palace at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) will play host to the inaugural 2017 Academic Venue Awards on 22nd November 2017.

Academic venues are being nominated across 11 categories to celebrate the contribution they make to the UK hospitality industry. More information is available at www.academicvenueawards.co.uk including how to nominate and submit entries as well as information on how to get tickets.

The event organised by Conference News will provide an opportunity to bring the UK’s top Academic Venues together with event buyers to network, share best practice, highlight progress and celebrate successes.

Commenting on the awards, Jennie Powell, QMUL’s Head of Events notes ‘It’s important that academic venues showcase themselves to the widest possible audience to demystify stereotypes. As these are the first ever academic venue awards, we felt it was important to get them into our venue to show the investment QMUL has made and to shine a spotlight on what the space is capable of to buyers and competitors alike’.

The Great Hall is one of over 100 unique and unusual venues across three locations in central London zones one and two marketed under Events & Hospitality QM – Queen Mary University of London’s (QMUL) venue hire brand. Alongside venue hire, the team also offers wedding receptions and civil ceremonies under Weddings at QMUL along with individual and group accommodation under the brand Stay QM  Further information is available by visiting www.qmhospitality.co.uk, www.qmweddings.co.uk or www.qmaccommodation.co.uk.
