Printworks London’s emergence on the London events scene disrupts the possibilities of the industry. Aiding the creative growth of Canada Water, this new event space offers brands, producers and agencies a dynamic setting to catalyse their work.

Born from re-imagining the skeleton of The Evening Standard, The Daily Mail and The Metro’s former printing factor, the site’s invigoration offers unparalleled potential. Recognised by the upcoming London Venue Awards; it appears as a finalist in three categories: ‘Best New or Refurbished Venue’, ‘Best London Venue (1,000 plus attendees) and ‘Most Versatile London Venue (over 1,000 attendees)’.

With 119,200 sq ft of versatile event space, Printworks’ interior mixes inspiring urban modernity with an immersive sense of drama. Accommodating up to 6,000 guests, the further 40,000 sq ft outside activates the ultimate blank canvas for conferences, exhibitions, experiential events, concerts, product launches and filming.

Enabling creators to propel their unique vision, Printworks saw demand for its innovatory space prior to its official opening. Before the January launch, prolific fashion brand Mulberry hosted their Spring/Summer catwalk show in September 2016. Since then demand has continued to rocket.

Over 150,000 guests have crossed the threshold of this architecturally unique space which is fast-becoming recognised as a culturally significant destination. Highlights include over 20 ticketed music events, live concerts including Gorillaz world-premiere album launch, the world’s first drive-through immersive experience for Toyota and repeat brand activations for Adidas.

The site’s seen a diverse programme of public-facing events including Afropunk Fest, Wing Fest, and Beavertown Brewery’s Extravaganza beer festival. Printworks’ surround-sound enables unmatched experiences to come alive within the space. In August, London Contemporary Orchestra presented an exclusive audio-visual extravaganza, featuring acoustic instrumentation, including four orchestras playing simultaneously with electronic sampling.

Cementing Printworks’ ethos is a dedication to sustainable community development. Many ticketed events offer a residents’ ballot so the wider community can experience the innovation taking place behind Printworks’ monolithic façade. This exemplifies the venue’s ‘no barriers’ policy ensuring everyone is embraced despite financial, physical and cultural factors.

Printworks has received reviews from some of the UK’s best-regarded publications, including Elle Magazine – “Just: YES”, Time Out – “The place is genuinely impressive”, Guardian – “Eye-popping”, Evening Standard – “A new lease of life”. Amy Lamé, Night Czar for Mayor of London said: “Printworks is a venue unlike any other in the capital and I’m so excited about the launch of this innovative space.”
