Josh Daniels has joined PlayPass UK as business development manager with a focus of introducing the company’s NFC event technology to the sports sector.

PlayPass UK is enjoying its busiest ever summer in the live music sector, delivering cashless and interactive audience gamification to a rapidly expanding roster of UK festivals.

PlayPass UK MD, Steve Jenner, commented: “We are establishing a trusted network of festival and music industry clients in the UK and Josh will help us introduce this exciting technology into the UK sports sector, building on PlayPass’ European successes’ at RFC Anderlecht and KV Mechelen.”

Josh joins with seven years’ experience in the sports sector working with sponsorship, marketing and sport management, most recently spending the past three and a half years as head of sports and events at Groupon.

Josh stated: “I have worked across the majority of sports in the UK and across a number of sectors within the sporting world. The part that has always intrigued me is the adoption of technology into sport to enhance the experience and this is why I joined PlayPass. This technology allows fans to feel more connected with the event and will build their relationship with the clubs and events.

“A moment in sport is often unbelievable. It is why billions of people around the world cling onto their sporting memories and achievements as if they were made out of gold. I am very excited to join and can’t wait to help everyone’s sporting moments be even more special.”
