dmg events, a leading international events company, has appointed Nick Powell as Vice President of its rapidly expanding Construction Division.

Powell has been appointed to help dmg events target portfolio growth across the MENA region. His arrival comes just weeks after the appointment of Chris Kilbee to the role of Senior Vice President for the Construction Division and demonstrates the growth ambitions of the business as it increases the leadership capacity at senior levels of its construction team.

“Feedback from the market and our customers has shown there is significant opportunity for our construction division to geo-adapt existing brands to new territories and launch new focused events where there is demand,” said Chris Kilbee. “Nick’s appointment will provide additional bandwidth within our senior leadership team and increase the focus on some of our most important and fastest growing events.”

Powell will take direct responsibility for the growth of dmg events construction portfolio in key territories, as the business looks to expand on its achievements and increase the reach of its core construction brands.

“There is a mass of untapped potential for our brands in the MENA region,” said Powell. “I’ve watched the portfolio grow and I’m delighted to be working with a fantastic team to play a part in its continued expansion. I’m looking forward to working with local partners, agents, media and associations to bring a relevant increase in real value our events bring to each country.”

Powell joins dmg events from Easyfairs, where he was Divisional Director for its Energy & Marine Portfolio. There he led launches and new acquisitions as well as geo adapting his exhibition brands across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Powell was also responsible for diversifying his brands beyond traditional trade shows, a factor which saw him managing conferences and trade publications, as well as launching awards ceremonies, intelligence platforms and industry associations with a global reach.
