MEETinLEEDS, the conference facilities for the University of Leeds, is strengthening its team with two new appointments to its sales and marketing department. The new appointments will enhance the university’s strengths in the event industry and help to further position the university as a central asset to the city and the region.

The conference facility has welcomed back Emma Broadhurst, who has re-joined the business in her new role as business development officer, following her previous role in business development at Leeds City Council’s conference bureau, ConferenceLeeds.

Emma’s role will be in the delivery of a proactive sales strategy and supporting university academics in attracting sizeable national and international association conference business to the university, strengthening the university’s position as a world class conference and event destination.

Emma’s experience within the business, as well as her in-depth knowledge of the industry, will enable MEETinLEEDS to harness and enhance the strengths of the university through her growing knowledge and engagement. She will be working alongside the academic and professional service teams to showcase these strengths on a global scale.

Also strengthening the team is 25-year-old, Hannah Morris, who has joined the MEETinLEEDS team as digital marketing executive.

Previously working as digital content officer at the Royal Armouries Museum, as well as graduating from the University of Leeds with a degree in Cultural History, Hannah holds a wealth of knowledge within the conferencing and event industry.

As digital marketing executive, Hannah will be involved in creating content, managing social media channels and delivering email marketing communications, as well as working on design, photography and videography.

The two new recruits will be supporting MEETinLEEDS with conferencing activity and helping to profile the stature of the university both nationally and internationally.

Harriet Boatwright, sales and marketing manager at MEEDSinLEEDS, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming Hannah to the team and Emma back the team! Harnessing the university’s strengths, their appointments will help to further profile the stature of the university and we look forward to seeing them progress and excel individually and as part of the team.”
