Fashion photographer Carlos Lumiere and his team have raised their game by opening a flagship studio on the prestigious Grosvenor Place, while still keeping the Lumiere touch

Running along the western edge of Buckingham Palace Gardens, and just a minute from Hyde Park Corner and Victoria tube stations, Grosvenor Place boasts a rich history dating back to the 18th century and offers today an easy access to many of London’s most renowned landmarks, including Harrods, Apollo Victoria Theatre, Park Lane, Piccadilly and Green Park.

With exceptional attention to detail, The Embassy and its spacious ground floor has been lovingly reverted back to its original décor with high ceilings, sparkling chandeliers and hand painted walls and mouldings. Designer furniture from Jonathan Adler, Andrew Martin and Timothy Oulton are combined with original Louis Philippe mirrors and create an atmosphere, grand enough for even the most demanding client.

Luscious fabrics, discrete lighting and designer pieces transfer the original vault rooms on the lower ground floor into a unique break-out area, ideal for smaller groups and in the future intended for art exhibitions.

Established in the actual bank vault, the Palladio Room offers the perfect space for private meetings and conference calls, its beautiful wallpaper, fabulous mirrors and the print of the original Buckingham Palace making this a one of a kind experience.

State-of-the-art AV equipment includes the latest sound system by Bang & Olufsen, individually designed speakers by David Lynch, the outstanding large 4K display and the Sennheiser PA system.

“We are nothing without our team,” states Carlos, internationally acclaimed photographer and founder of Lumiere London.

“Every booking request or question will be personally answered by our skilled booking team, Ona and Esther. The two of them are fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and Japanese and love providing packages, tailored for the individual client’s needs and budgets.”

“Our Head of Hospitality Laura is trained as a professional sommelier and will create a bespoke client experience, delivering luxury catering, ranging from nutritious corporate lunches and private dining experiences to glamorous receptions and canapés. With a wide range of international cuisine and a variety of diets such as vegan, vegetarian, halal and lactose requirements, the client is guaranteed to find the perfect menu.”

Lumiere’s creative and versatile team is complete with Nitin, Libera, Andreia, Stephania and Taylan, coming from China, India, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Turkey and the UK, making sure the client has an unforgettable experience at Lumiere London, from arranging the perfect set-up for their event to ensuring the PowerPoint presentation runs smoothly.

Founded in 2007, Lumiere London started originally as Carlos’ photographic studio in the illustrious Menier Chocolate Factory in London Bridge and over time expanded into an event space used for filming, photography and corporate events. In 2014, Carlos chose to take on an even larger venue in a former printing company in Southwark, impressing clients with his unique eye for light, creative decor and interior design.

As the client base grew, so did the studios with the latest inclusion of the ‘Tropical Library’ on the second floor where exotic prints and plants add character to events. Next door, the Gallery feels like a New York-style loft and comes with its own kitchen. The sharply contemporary White Loft on the third floor has hosted conferences and product launches, while the adjacent Victorian Loft’s cosier aesthetic suits more intimate events or receptions.

“Today we are proud to have a long-term relationship with national and international clients including Facebook, IKEA, Unilever, Nestle, Virgin Media, Daimler Benz, Disney, Coke Cola, McDonalds, Puma, Adidas, Nando’s, all major banks, broadcasters and accountancy firms, to name only a few,” Carlos smiles.

Born in Spain and having lived in New York, Paris, Milan, Miami, Madrid and Hamburg, Carlos has been a successful fashion photographer for most of his life. His clients include Chacharel, Vivienne Westwood, Longines, Royal Ascot, Christian Lacroix, Dunhil, Harrods, Lavin, Nike and magazines such as ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ.

His husband and Lumiere co-founder Stephan Trockle comes from the entertainment industry, working as a Production Executive on Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut QUARTET with Dame Maggie Smith and as an Assistant Producer on the Oscar-nominated INVISIBLE WOMAN, starring Ralph Fiennes as Charles Dickens, Felicity Jones and Kristin Scott Thomas.

They are the beating heart of Lumiere London and the reason why we won ‘Best Venue Team of the Year’ and received numerous nominations, including ‘Best Venue for Employing Women and Gender Equality’.
