About Observatory

Observatory is a content and creative technology studio. We create large-scale immersive experiences for live events — fashion weeks, global sports, brand activations, touring productions. Our clients include Dior, Adidas, UEFA, and Samsung. We sit at the intersection of content and technology, and we build both.

Our work spans creative direction, content production, technical consultation, and technical delivery — across fashion and lifestyle, sport, live events, and corporate brand experiences.

The Role

This is a newly created position for someone who understands how creative work gets made and sold — and who wants to be at the sharp end of growing a studio with serious creative credibility and an ambitious commercial trajectory.

You’ll own new business development end to end: building and managing a proactive pipeline, identifying and pursuing the right agencies, producers, and brand-side opportunities, and representing Observatory at the industry events where relationships are made.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline through research, outreach, industry engagement, and relationship development across agency and corporate accounts
  • Lead pitches and presentations from initial brief through to close
  • Develop SOWs and manage client communications in partnership with internal creative and technical teams
  • Liaise across internal teams to manage appropriate workload when securing new business
  • Work with senior leadership to identify strategic partnerships and scale outreach
  • Track and report on new business activity with clear analysis
  • Stay close to the industry — identify relevant events, monitor market developments, and bring commercial intelligence back into the studio
  • Understand and forge new partnerships that will help fast-track Observatory’s growth

About You

You’ll have come up through agencies, events, AV, or a design and production environment — you understand how this world works from the inside. You know how event agencies buy, how decisions get made, and how to build the kind of trust that turns a first project into a long-term relationship.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in business development or a hybrid BD/marketing role, with a track record of winning and growing accounts
  • Background in creative agencies, events, AV, or design is required; experience working with or selling to event agencies is highly regarded
  • You’ll bring an existing network of contacts across event agencies, producers, or brand-side clients — relationships you can activate from day one
  • Strong knowledge of the live events, sports, or fashion sectors — you know the landscape and the key players
  • A natural relationship-builder: approachable, credible, and good with people at all levels
  • Confident in presenting and pitching; comfortable in a room with senior clients
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • An understanding of content production, screen technology, or visual experiences is a genuine advantage

Compensation

From £45,000 depending on experience, plus uncapped bonus.
