Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre’s 12,500m² Hall 1 will transform into the fantasy realm of Gielinor for its latest exhibition win: RuneFest, on Friday 5 – Saturday 6 October 2018.

This is the first year that the immersive event, based on RuneScape, the popular videogame from Cambridge-based Jagex, will be held outside of London following impressive year-on-year growth.

An immersive set will completely transform Hall 1 into the fantasy realm based on the game’s Viking-inspired ‘Fremennik’ province. In an exclusive performance, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra is to lead visitors on a live musical adventure across Gielinor.

The two-day event expects to welcome more than 1,750 visitors for a festival that will also involve live entertainment, panel sessions and content creator meet ups.

Josh Winward, Head of Events, Jagex said: “With significant investment being placed in providing guests with a breath-taking experience of Gielinor, we needed an impressive venue that matched our ambition and provided us with enough space to accommodate popular demand, while showcasing some incredible displays. The Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre has fantastic links to London and the M3, making it accessible for attendees, with extensive free parking on-site, new food and beverage options and accommodation close by, allowing our guests to have a truly enjoyable visit.”

Carlo Zoccali, Account Director at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre said: “Our team at Farnborough International is thrilled to welcome RuneFest for its first event outside of London. The plans for RuneFest are incredible and I can’t wait to see how the 12,500m² Hall 1 will be transformed, there can be no better way to demonstrate the venue’s inherent flexibility and versatility than through the creation of a complete fantasy landscape.”
