HGA is delighted to announce that former Head of Sales Chris Hobson has been promoted to Client Services Director.

Starting at HGA in December 2017, 2018 was an outstanding year for Chris. Across the course of the year, he helped to implement a tremendously successful growth strategy, which saw the agency secure over 30 new client wins.

Now in its 30th business year, Chris will help to lead HGA’s charge in delivering on its objective of doubling in size over the next 3 years. Working across all clients, current and new, the Client Services Director role will see Chris become much more client focused, with an emphasis on retention and customer service.

Speaking of his new role, Chris said: “This is a really proud moment for me. Since joining HGA in December 2017 I outlined my ambitions to accelerate us to the ‘Top 50’ sphere as quickly as possible. In my time here, I have gained so much admiration for what our founders built 30 years ago and had a strong desire to be a bigger part of the business. In the last 7 months, we have successfully implemented our growth strategy, which has resulted in bringing on over 30 brand new big high street and corporate clients for HGA. Our focus now is keeping those clients within the HGA family by providing excellence in service and bringing the latest innovations to them, which will help improve their delegates experiences. I am thankful that my efforts have been recognised by the current board and could not be happier, or more determined, to make the decision to have me join the board.”

With another busy year ahead, HGA Managing Director Dan Laurence said: “Our biggest asset is our people and identifying and securing the right talent is a key part of the growth strategy we outlined back at the start of 2018. Right from the start Chris’s tenacity, passion and ability shone through and he has been a key part of what we’ve achieved over the last 12 months. This promotion is testament to that and I know he will continue to play an integral role in helping the business realise its true potential.

We’ve doubled our client base over the last year and the focus now is on better serving those clients and upholding our belief of always going the extra mile. Chris will thrive in this new role and I’m delighted to be working alongside him in a much closer capacity to drive the business forward to where it deserves to be.
