GL events has secured a new three-year contract with Grandstand Media Ltd to support the Horse of the Year Show. The partnership was launched at the 2019 HOYS event, which took place at the NEC Birmingham earlier this month, and saw GL events installing temporary grandstand seating in the TopSpec Arena for over 1,500 visitors.

GL events will continue to support the event into 2020 and 2021, creating a bespoke spectator seating area within hall 2 of the NEC. This year’s brief included the creation of two grandstands, each 54m long and 2.7m high. The event infrastructure specialist also created front access walkways for viewers to easily access their seats.

“This is another important contract for us, again demonstrating the quality of our grandstand seating and the trust our clients invest into GL events’ project management,” commented Scott Jameson, GL events UK group managing director. “It’s a competitive market, but we believe that event organisers prioritise the right product, supported by the right team.”

Jane Warmington, operations manager at Grandstand Media, added: “Horse of the Year 2019 was a great success, offering outstanding equestrian entertainment and an unbeatable day out. We receive large numbers of visitors to the show every year, therefore it’s important to offer spectators a great experience. To do this we need partners like GL events who have the people and expertise to support our ambitions.”
