Former Live Nation executive Tim Chambers joins Tixserve board

Chambers has held senior posts at Live Nation, Ticketmaster and TicketWeb Industry veteran backs new digital ticket fulfilment platform

Experienced, international ticketing specialist Tim Chambers has joined the Board of new B2B digital ticket fulfilment platform Tixserve.

Chambers has worked in the live entertainment market for more than 20 years, having held the post of VP European Development at Ticketmaster and SVP International Corporate Development for Live Nation Entertainment, as well as being the founder of TicketWeb in the UK.

Tixserve is a new B2B digital ticket fulfilment solution for ticketing platforms and retailers in the €30 billion global live entertainment market of sport, music and theatre.

The Tixserve technology enables its business clients to securely:

  • transform the ticketing experience for fans with no more printing tickets at home or waiting for tickets to arrive via the post
  • regulate the exchange of tickets and prevent unauthorised resale
  • eliminate ticket fraud including the practice of selling duplicate printed tickets
  • reduce event ticket printing and distribution costs, and
  • generate new revenue opportunities via bespoke, content-rich, interactive digital ticket delivered to smartphones.

The proprietary ‘track and trace’ technology developed by Tixserve has brought a new way to tackle the problem of ticket resale for high profile events to the marketplace, by enabling organisers to know for certain who exactly is holding a ticket. It also empowers artists, promoters, and sports event organisers to decide whether a ticket can be exchanged or resold.

Tim Chambers said: “The live entertainment sector is often slow to adopt the benefits of new technologies. It no longer makes sense to rely solely on paper tickets – especially when you look at the tremendous capabilities of a secure Tixserve digital ticket. The future of ticketing must incorporate seamless digital distribution with mobile authentication, and enhanced consumer services including event timings, line-ups and biographies, location maps, with added value merchandise up-sale opportunities. Tixserve does all of this, and more.”

The tech company has secured €250,000 in funding from Enterprise Ireland as part of its High Potential Start-Up programme. One of the private investors in Tixserve is Dr Michael Smurfit, one of Ireland’s most successful and well-known businessmen.

Tixserve has located its operations centre at the high-tech MaynoothWorks facility on the campus of Maynooth University just 30 minutes from Dublin Airport. The university was involved in the early stage validation of the business opportunity for Tixserve through co-founder Patrick Kirby’s participation in the Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers programme hosted by Maynooth University and Athlone Institute of Technology.

Co-founder and Managing Director of Tixserve, Patrick Kirby, said: “The Tixserve digital ticket fulfilment platform is a secure white label solution that can be used by existing ticket sellers to enhance the experience for ticket-purchasers, reduce costs and generate new revenue streams. Since our launch in 2017, we have successfully concluded a number of extensive private field trials with well-known venues and ticket agents in the United Kingdom and Ireland and we look forward to announcing details of commercial partnerships with these clients very soon. Tim Chambers brings a rich international experience and will help to steer the company as we target large global opportunities in the live event ticketing industry.”

Adam is the co-founder and editor of Adam, a technology evangelist also organises Event Tech Live, Europe’s only show dedicated to event technology and the Event Technology Awards. Both events take place in November, London.
