A leading Midlands conference and events hotel has now completed the final phase of a major £4.2m refurbishment.

In August work began on the hotel restaurant at the luxurious Hilton at St. George’s Park, marking the completion of the final phase of an extensive refurbishment programme which began in 2017 at the premier four-star Midlands hotel.

The dining space has been given a fresh contemporary feel with a white, silver and damson colour palette, LED lighting, a hardwearing floor and a complete refurbishment of the existing chairs, tables and dining booths to make it lighter, brighter and better for guests, with additional hot plates allowing for more menu options.

The upgrade program aims to ensure the hotel remains the leading venue for conferences, events and leisure travellers to the Midlands. The investment began with a soft refurbishment of the 500-seater Sir Bobby Robson Ballroom, together with the reception area and Education Wing which provides 19 flexible meeting rooms and a 90-seater lecture theatre.

This work was followed by upgrades and improvements to the dedicated Executive Lounge and hotel bar area, followed by an extensive facelift of the unique circular Executive Drum events space which can seat up to 100 people.

All 228 guest rooms have also been furnished with new luxury mattresses, with 86 rooms undergoing a complete refresh and more room refurbishments planned in next year.

General manager Nicola Underhill, said: “The Hilton at St. George’s Park caters for the most diverse range of customers within the Hilton UK group due to our unique position geographically, and it’s our responsibility to ensure every single one of them receives the same level of service and has the very best experience.

“Our refurbishment programme is crucial to fulfilling that promise to our customers, who love our beautiful green location and unique hotel design and ultimately want to enjoy a unique and special experience when they visit us.

“This investment will ensure we continue to successfully attract both business and leisure customers, and with bookings coming in thick and fast for Christmas and New Year already, its completion before our busiest period is perfectly timed.”

The Hilton at St. George’s Park is situated within 330-acres of beautiful Staffordshire countryside, once part of the Bass Brewery family estate, and is now home to all 28 English football teams. It caters for a diverse customer base from premier footballers to elite business brands including Nike, BT, Continental, Molson Coors and Vauxhall together with tourists to the area.

When it comes to a multi-purpose, state-of-the art events facility, businesses need look no further than the Hilton at St. George’s Park, a flagship hotel complete with a health club, spa, restaurant and bar lounge, meeting rooms and a versatile function suite suitable for conferences, exhibitions and banqueting.
