The award winning Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre (22 to 25 November 2018) is now in its sixteenth year and continues to thrive in popularity. EFS Europe have been supplying temporary flooring for the event for the last five years, witnessing more and more Christmas revellers flocking to enjoy the festive atmosphere.

With over 300 stalls situated all around the historic Georgian town centre, the market is the focal point of the local festivities with EFS’s event flooring providing safe pedestrian access for the 1000s of visitors.

Over the recent years, the event has expanded by over 30% with the organisers needing 2,600m2 (an increase of 100m2 on last year) of EFS Temp-a-Path plastic flooring to protect the city’s Cathedral grounds. The flooring is also used as pedestrian pathway around the hundreds of stalls ensuring safe and easy accessibility for all, including those navigating the event with buggies, prams and wheelchairs.

Bury St Edmond’s event organisers chose EFS’s Temp-a-Path due to its lightweight nature and its zero impact on the historic town centre environment. The ability to install the Temp-a-Path by hand allows the organisers to keep heavy plant machinery to a minimum, reducing the risk of damage to property, roads or footpaths. Temp-a-Path is also used to protect grassed areas, reducing the cost of post-event clean up and maintenance.

Speaking about the event, EFS Europe Business Development Manager Jeremy Simpson said:

“The Bury St Edmonds Christmas Market has become a regular fixture on our own event calendar. The location presents its own unique challenge, but by using Temp-a-Path the organisers have been able to grow in size without having to worry about how to protect the beautiful Georgian town’s site surfaces.  We were delighted to be involved again this year.”
