Industry-leading guests confirmed to share insights, innovations and decades of event sustainability experience with delegates at The Festival Vision: 2025 conference at The Showman’s Show, Wednesday 16th October, 12-5.30pm, hosted by not-for-profit Powerful Thinking.

Now in its third edition, the conference focuses on developments in sustainable initiatives, with talks, panels and presentations on key topics, while framing Festival Vision:2025 in the context of global and national climate movements and policy.

This year, for the first time, the conference is open to all visitors to The Showman’s Show as well as event organisers who have taken the Festival Vision:2025 pledge.  Read the full programme and book a free delegate place: www.powerful-thinking.org.uk

Highlights include keynote speaker Sophie Thomas, introducing the Circular Economy model and how it may affect the event sector supply chain, and an update from Julie’s Bicycle on climate emergency on the global stage. Panels; ‘The Future of Food’ looking at food waste, provenance, zero-packaging and the practicalities of implementing initiatives onsite, and ‘Insights on Waste Management’ which gathers experts who’ve worked on some of the UK’s most celebrated events to consider how to implement effective waste strategy and engage audiences – and the‘Innovations in Energy’ session showcasing the latest in power management, monitoring & efficiency from suppliers and consultants.

Once again, the three shortlisted exhibitors of the Green Supplier & Innovation award, co-founded by Powerful Thinking and The Showman’s Show, will be invited to present their sustainable products and services to the event organisers in attendance in a Dragon’s Den-style format with the live judging panel and audience casting the final vote.

Delegates can expect an exclusive preview of the new Show Must Go On Report, to be launched early next year, which will update the seminal 2015 report’s benchmarking of the environmental impacts and offer a roadmap to future reductions.  The conference is rounded off with networking opportunities for suppliers, delegates and speakers over a sustainably brewed beer with Purity Ales.

Johnny Lance, The Showman’s Show’s event director commented: “Ensuring that events are adopting sustainable practices is a key consideration for many organisers and suppliers within our industry. Being able to play host to The Festival Vision: 2025 conference and opening it up to our visitors to reach a wider audience at The Showman’s Show is something that we’re delighted to support. In addition, hosting the final of the Green Supplier & Innovation award, which shines a light on the fantastic work that our exhibitors are doing in developing and showcasing green products and initiatives is great.”

Chris Johnson, co-founder and chair of Powerful Thinking added: “We’re really pleased to bring together the rapidly growing Festival Vision:2025 community at The Showman’s Show for a diverse program of talks panels presentations and networking. Now is a time for action, and together we can take robust and sensible steps toward reducing impacts based on objective advice and sharing information.”
