Fast Forward Fiesta, the event organised by this year’s Fast Forward 15 (FF15) mentees – an initiative that sees fifteen women in the events industry mentored for a year by an industry veteran – has announced that it has raised approximately £10,000, which will be split between Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and the FF15 programme.

The team was tasked to put on an event from scratch, with no allocated budget. They opted for an energy-packed, fun-filled night full of games, entertainment and food. Incredible prizes were donated by generous hotels, venues and event organisers, with over £3,000 raised via raffle ticket sales alone.

Meeting Needs, the event industry charity, agreed to match donations of up to £3,000 towards Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust. A cut will also go back into the not-for-profit FF15 programme to ensure that the mentoring legacy can continue for next year’s mentees.

Fay Sharpe, Founder of Fast Forward 15 commented: “I’m so proud of the girl’s achievement, they’ve completely smashed previous records and exceeded expectations. It was a fantastic night and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all the sponsors and generous donations – we couldn’t have done this without you”.

Charlotte Boaden, Engagement and Events Consultant at Nationwide and FF15 mentee said: “The event was a huge success and following months of planning, networking and raising funds and awareness, we’re so proud of what we have achieved as a group. Ultimately, this would not have been possible without the generosity of all the attendees, donations and sponsors so we want to thank everyone for digging deep into their pockets to contribute towards such a worthy cause.”

Please note that the exact sum the event has raised is still being finalised.

Entries are now open for next year’s course, if you would like to send in a submission please visit: https://fastforward15.co.uk/apply/
