On Tuesday 6th March, the Fast Forward 15 mentees delivered a stand-out charity event at Egg Nightclub, London. Dressed head-to-toe in 80s glam, the guests and venue exuded retro charm. It was the perfect setting for a night of nostalgic games to raise money for a great cause.

The event was developed in response to a challenge set down to test the event organising prowess of the mentees. This year’s team exceeded their target and raised over £4,000 on the night with all proceeds going to Smart Works and Fast Forward 15.

Entertainment for the evening was supplied by Wildfire, who challenged guests to win an exciting selection of prizes on the old-school classic Pac Man and neuron racer. Wildfire also provided the games and the 80s props and backdrop.

Another highlight was Natalie Livesey, a current mentee, who took to the stage to host a special edition of Play Your Cards Right. All games were played to the beat of DJ Melle Brown who blasted iconic tunes from the era.

Caiger and Co provided delicious canapes and Off to Work dressed every bit the part. The fabulous theming was courtesy of Yahire and professional photographer Darren Bandoo captured the fun of the night.

Fundraising activities included an exclusive raffle with luxury prizes, including overnight hotel stays, restaurant vouchers and fantastic tickets to London’s best shows. The silent auction saw some exceptionally generous bids on money-can’t-buy prizes, including a coaching session with Fast Forward 15’s founder, Fay Sharpe.

Commenting on the programme, head of events at Chinawhite and Fast Forward 15 mentee Gabrielle Austen Browne said: “The Fast Forward 15 journey has been an incredibly rewarding experience, culminating in a fantastic charity event which smashed all targets thanks to our supporters! I can’t emphasise enough what a worthwhile and inspiring mentorship programme this is and would encourage any ambitious women in events and hospitality to apply, no matter what stage of their career they are at.”

Fast Forward 15 is returning for 2018, offering 15 new mentees the opportunity to be a part of the programme. Candidates can still apply through the dedicated site (www.fastforword15.co.uk).
