Event services company Joe Manby Limited is supporting Harrogate charity Henshaws College this summer to enable them to put on their first ever professional exhibition of the college’s artwork.

Henshaws College based on Bogs Lane, Harrogate works with young people aged 16-25 with sensory impairments, autistic spectrum conditions, physical disabilities and learning difficulties and healthcare needs. Students at the college are encouraged to use creative arts to help develop independent skills, express themselves and communicate.

The exhibition is the first public art show for the college and will raise much-needed funds for the charity which will go towards improving the college’s sensory facilities, workshops and art provision.

Joe Manby Limited provides a range of event services to organisers and exhibitors at major venues throughout the UK. The company will supply a shell scheme to showcase Henshaws student’s artwork in a professional and accessible way. On display will be paintings primarily, supplemented with other smaller items of pottery or jewellery. Prints and postcards of the exhibits will be available for sale on the day.

Joanna Currie, art instructor at Henshaws College said: “We are delighted to have Joe Manby Limited’s support for this, our first exhibition, and hope it will help us attract even more visitors. We really want to set a high standard to match some of the fantastic artworks our students have produced and with Joe Manby Limited’s expertise know we are in reliable hands.”

The exhibition will take place over the weekend of 29 June. Admission fees will be £10 and refreshments will be available.
