Formation – a company founded just two years ago – has been announced as a shortlisted finalist for the 2018 Association of Event Organisers (AEO) Awards.
The company has been shortlisted in the Stand Design & Build Supplier of the Year category. For such a young company, the achievement is also significant considering the well-established names that have also been shortlisted in the same category.
Formation was the result of three experienced individuals who combined their collective knowledge in key areas to create what they envisaged to be a boutique agency approach to stand design and build.
Alison Howard, Jody Milton, and Matthew Spillings joined forces in February 2016, with each of them concentrating their efforts in the area they were most accomplished in. Alison oversees new business and account management, Jody deals with product design, and Matthew handles operations and project management.
Commenting on the awards shortlist, Jody said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to have made the shortlist for what is a significant award in our industry. To have reached this level after just two years reinforces our belief in the principles we set out when we formed the company. Rather than a large team of staff, we wanted clients to be able to contact the senior team directly and feel like they were being given the best service possible. We also wanted to tailor our supply chain and give ourselves the ability to cherry pick the best suited for any given project. We felt that doing things this way would provide better value for money to our clients, whilst always delivering the best possible result for each project.”
Formation has also revealed that it is hitting it four-year targets nearly two years ahead of schedule, thanks largely to attracting repeat business from new customers sooner than anticipated. From a standing start, the company has achieved turnover of £1.2m, with a client base that includes small companies right up to globally recognised blue-chip brands.
