Climate Action, organiser of the annual Europe-trotting Sustainable Innovation Forum (SIF), will accommodate the event in an Evolution Dome temporary structures for the first time this November.

The Sustainable Innovation Forum brings 600 plus handpicked delegates together. These include Ministers of Energy and Climate Change, blue-chip CEOs, mayors, responsible investors, development banks, green entrepreneurs and media, for two packed days of capacity building, networking, collaboration and deal-making that will galvanise and fast-track the green economy.

This year’s host city Bonn has a population of little more than 300,000, which is reflected in a dearth of viable venues. As a result, Evolution Dome will provide SIF, a side event to the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP23), with 3,000sq m of inflatable structures

Set on event partner DHL Group’s lawn, adjacent to COP23’s Bula Zone in the company’s 162.5m Post Tower premises, Evolution Dome will provide the event with capacity for conferences, receptions, meetings and exhibition space, in a designer setting.

“We want an innovative, flexible temporary space.” Nick Henry, Managing Director at Climate Action says. “We’ll have limited time for the build, like a few days, which precludes a lot of traditional structures, and it needs to look and feel right as well as being cost-effective to rent and to run. Evolution Dome is a perfect fit on all those counts.”

The inflatable structures will be powered by DHL’s renewable energy source with any food waste from the Forum converted into power. Beyond SIF’s two days, Climate Action is letting the structures out to other events across the COP23 fortnight.

Darren Norfield, Production manager at Evolution Dome commented “We will be installing 2 of our largest temporary Inflatable structures the 24m x 48m fluid scarab, these will become the centrepiece for the main conference with 7 other structures linked to deliver a unique event space. We are looking forward to working with Climate Action on this project and are very happy to have secured a 2-year contract for their 2017 & 2018 events.
