Event First Steps, an initiative set up in order to help event industry newcomers, has announced details of their third event, to take place later this month.

‘How to Get Your Dream Job in the Events Industry’, on Monday 30th April, will see four speakers from different areas of the industry giving short talks about their unique routes to industry at a TED Style event – sharing tips and advice and answering questions from the audience.

‘As with our previous events, we have interest not only from University leavers, but also those changing careers or interested in starting their career straight from school’ says Priya Narain of Boulevard Events, one of the co-founders of First Steps. ‘We have also noted more senior events professionals attend in order to understand the next generation a little better – meaning there is always diversity in the audience which makes for super interesting discussion.’

The free event will take place in the uber cool setting of The Den, in The Collective venue at Bedford Square. First Steps co-founder Caitlin Kobrak from GPJ states: ‘We feel very lucky to have the support of The Collective for this event – they have some fantastically unique spaces and we are thrilled to be able to showcase them for our third event!’

The four speakers from UNILAD, Ministry of Sound, CWC Group and Iris Worldwide have a wide and varied combined experience, and the First Steps team are excited about the knowledge they will be able to share.

Elena Clowes, the third co-founder from Unicorn Events added: ‘The event professionals we have chosen to speak have entered our industry via a variety of routes, and have ended up in amazing roles executing badass work – we can’t wait to see them motivate and inspire others the way they inspire us.’

Event First Steps: How To Get Your Dream Job is being hosted by The Collective at their incredible space in Bedford Square from 6.30pm on Monday 30th April.
