At the end of 2017, Taquilla.com has processed one million tickets for 25 million euros in gross sales. The event ticket search engine leader in Spain estimates that it has saved its visitors more than 4 million euros. Thus, the 100% Spanish-financed company closed the fiscal year with a positive balance in its growth and reached two clear targets for 2018: to continue investing in technology development and to promote culture.
Taquilla.com, with 96% of all available online tickets on the Internet, has the most complete event inventory in Spain. As David Fraga, Taquilla.com’s CEO and Founder, says, “Our team works every day to make access to cultural events easier in Spain. The arts deserve to be promoted, and that is what we try to do”.
As in previous years, Taquilla.com’s main goal has been to give its more than 10 million visitors access to any ticket, at any time and at the best price. This mission has been strengthened through the distribution agreements which Taquilla.com signed in 2017. Last year, leading global companies such as Eventbrite, Musement, Tiqets or Expedia, have joined a network of international distribution partners including Ticketmaster, Eventim, Groupon, and StubHub, on a total of more than 40 ticketing platforms. “All the distribution partnership we signed in 2017 with those international affiliates will help us in our future expansion to other countries”, says David Fraga.
The upward trend in Taquilla.com’s results it has always been closely related to technological excellence. While the year 2017 was marked by the launch of the App for Android and IOS and metasearch “Taquilla Cine”, in 2018 Taquilla.com will announce two releases that make a difference in the ticketing marketplace. “ Much remains to be done in the technology of ticket sales,” says David Fraga, “and Taquilla.com, as an event ticket search engine, has a privileged role in the development of big data processing and the application of artificial intelligence techniques in this marketplace”.
