Independent game-changing ticket platform Citizen Ticket is set to revolutionise the ticketing market after successfully completing public beta testing.
The first tech company to use anti-fraud, anti-ticket tout blockchain technology, Citizen Ticket is on a mission to make the secondary ticket industry fairer. BitTicket has been in BETA mode throughout the UK at small to medium events. BitTicket is now ready for large scale events after a vigorous few months of testing at live events and completion of stress testing its radical system for a 100,000 capacity event with incredible results. Citizen Ticket is now looking for its first major project to partner with, to prove ticket fraud and ticket touts can be stopped at large scale events.
Specifically designed from the ground up for mass market events, Citizen Ticket solves a problem which has cursed much of the professional events industry and secondary ticket sales for years. The blockchain technology is currently used by cryptocurrencies and a growing number of industries including banking and diamonds, due to its financial transparency, using a publicly distributed ledger which is impervious to fraud and counterfeiting. Unlike other event ticketing blockchain solutions still in development, Citizen Ticket is the only event ticketing blockchain system currently in use at live events across the UK.
Phil Shaw-Stewart, co-founder of Citizen Ticket comments, “Citizen Ticket was created to deal with the unethical problems that plague the event ticketing industry, including ticket touts, secondary sale ticket websites and ticket counterfeiting. The public and artists have spoke and they’ve had enough of being extorted and ripped off by unethical ticketing practises. Citizen Ticket’s mission is to provide an ethical alternative to buy and sell event tickets.”
Blockchain technology was originally developed for cryptocurrencies, using a network of computers to maintain a publicly available collective of book keeping scores to mark time, date, amount, participant of the transaction and number of tickets. The system is built on the blockchain, meaning information for every ticket sale is publicly verifiable. The blockchain locks and guarantees the value of a ticket in a way that is unmatched by private databases and paper systems. The history of every ticket is hardcoded into the life of the ticket showing to all where it’s been and who owns it allowing complete control.
The technology behind Citizen Ticket, BitTicket (Bt), is a digital asset created on the ethereum blockchain. Think of them as genuine as a paper ticket but with even more advantages, with their laws guaranteed by the blockchain, laws such as:
- Batches of Bt once issued cannot be oversold
- A single Bt can only have one owner
- A Bt can only be securely transferred or resold to a new owner via Citizen Ticket
- The customer is limited in how many Bt (of one event) they can hold
- Bt cannot be copied or counterfeited
- Citizen Ticket cannot change these laws once set, but can control the initial issuance and initial sale of the Bt.
Bt security goes beyond the ticket itself. Citizen Ticket (Ct) provides a secure environment to buy, sell and transfer BitTicket’s. BitTicket’s cannot be removed from this environment to be sold on secondary ticket platforms and Ct is constantly monitoring their environment for any fraudulent or unethical ticket tout behavior. If any such behavior is discovered the tickets will be frozen and user investigated.
Citizen Ticket is the future of ethical event ticketing to benefit the ticket purchaser, event organiser and artist. Using tried and tested technology it provides a transparent, safe and secure platform that is set to level the event ticketing industry for the good of all involved.
