Event services specialist Joe Manby Limited will help the Trades Union Congress (TUC) celebrate its 150th anniversary next month.

The Yorkshire based business will provide a comprehensive raft of event services to the TUC’s annual Congress and associated exhibition being staged in Manchester – the birthplace of the organisation in 1868.

Being held at the Manchester Central Convention Complex from 9-12 September, the celebrations of the anniversary will form an important part of the TUC Congress.

The first Congress was held at the Mechanics Institute in Princess Street in 1868 and attended by 34 delegates representing just 118,000 members.

This year’s annual Congress and exhibition will be attended by more than 600 delegates representing 48 unions and 5.5m trade union members in England and Wales, as well as several thousand visitors. Around 3,000 people will head through the doors over the course of four days to take part in debate, the fringe, to exhibit or to report on policy debates at Congress.

Joe Manby Limited will provide integrated event services, including floor plans, shell scheme and electrics, to the show.

Richard Manby, director at Joe Manby Limited, said: “We have a valued long-standing relationship with the TUC having supported its annual congress every year since 1987 and we are proud to play our part in the smooth running of this high-profile event.”

Joe Manby Limited offers a comprehensive range of event services to organisers and exhibitors at all major venues in the UK. It has a growing portfolio and a worldwide customer base.
