Speaking at the Conference and Creativity stage at last year’s Event Tech Live was Thomas Howie, Evessio’s COO, and Ali Lord, the head of events for UK and Ireland at Dentsu Aegis Network.

Evessio is an event management software, designed to ease the planning and running of live events. Dentsu Aegis Network is a marketing services group that has worked with The Telegraph, Eurostar, Aviva and Halfords, to create brand-focused solutions.

Adopting an interview-style conversation, Thomas quizzed Ali on her roles, past and present, in marketing and she drew upon her experiences to demonstrate the importance of events to businesses.

Ali touched on topics such as budgets, data, technology and work relationships to discuss how she creates events, citing budgets as her biggest challenge.

The audience was encouraged to ask questions and Ali offered her advice and suggestions on paving a career path in the event industry.

“Back yourself. Because when you believe in what you are doing, it is conveyed, it comes across,” Ali advised. “But also, love what you do and get in touch with people in the industry… There’s absolute merit in talking to people.”

Event Tech Live is Europe’s only free-to-attend show dedicated to event technology and is returning to London on 6th-7th November 2019. To register for updates, please see here.
