The popular Scottish music festival has been called off just two months after festival bosses announced it was moving from southern Scotland to Glasgow.

Organisers of the event announced in April that they were moving from Dumfries and Galloway to Glasgow city centre.

The move was met with a backlash from hopeful festival-goers who demanded refunds and voiced their displeasure on social media. One person commented, “It’s kind of lost its appeal now,” while others added, “it’s such a shame” and “feel really sad about this.”

Remarking on his struggles receiving a refund, one customer commented: “Still no monies what is going on this is the worst service I’ve ever experienced.”

Due to take place in SWG3, Finnieston in July, a statement on the festival website now reads, “the show has been cancelled” alongside a phone number to call to request a refund.

Fans dialling the telephone number are being advised that they will be contacted in due course.

An SWG3 spokesperson has confirmed the cancellation, explaining that customers may request refunds via the venue.

Bands such as Metronomy, The Vaccines and Frank Turner were among those booked to perform. Scottish acts such as The Van T’s, Emme Woods and Vistas will also miss out on performing.

In April, organisers were forced to issue an apology after announcing the move and posted a statement via the Facebook page. It read: “We’re sorry we got that totally wrong, and genuinely can only apologise.”

They have yet to comment on, or officially announce, the cancellation.
