As part of its rapidly growing team and resulting recruitment drive, Easyfairs is delighted to announce key appointments within its UK & Global team, based in Twickenham.
James Drake-Brockman joins this week to head up the UK portfolio of packaging events, including Packaging Innovations (at the NEC and Olympia), Luxury Packaging, Empack and Label&Print. With the remit of strategic growth into new sectors for these shows, James will also be heavily involved in geo-cloning Easyfairs’ packaging portfolio into new global markets. This geo-adaptation has been key to Easyfairs’ swift growth over recent years. James brings experience growing large events, launching new events and geo-cloning established events in APAC and Europe whilst working for dmg::events where he was most recently Head of EMEA and India for their Digital Marketing Portfolio. Prior to that he led the turnaround of Internet World between 2005 and 2010, establishing it as the leading event in Europe for digital business.
Alison Willis, previously Portfolio Director at Ascential and Group Commercial Director at Brand Events following ten years at UBM, also joined the company as Divisional Director at the end of January 2017. At Ascential she was responsible for the Environment & Broadcast division, including driving the growth of both RWM & BVE. As part of this strategy, Alison was responsible for forging new partner collaborations, implementing new sectors and instigating co-located events for emerging new sectors to enhance the event’s proposition. Her role at Easyfairs is to lead the growth of its industrial portfolio, comprising Advanced Engineering, Lab Innovations and new acquisition CCR Expo, bringing her experience to developing new sectors within the existing shows and expanding the Advanced Engineering and CCR brands overseas.
Adrian Sell also joins the Advanced Engineering portfolio as Senior Project Manager, with a background in leading manufacturing media, including the Manufacturing Technologies Association and MACH Exhibition Director. And Laurent Lemire joins from Tarsus Group as Content & Insight Marketing Manager on the Paris-based ADF&PCD event.
These appointments, along with eleven other recent new recruits, have been made to strengthen both its team to drive forward the ambitious plans for growth. Recent acquisitions at the Twickenham-based office have included CCR Expo, the Pentawards, and Oriex Communication, organisers of the ADF & PCD events; and new launches include StocExpo Shanghai, Tank Storage Awards, ADF&PCD New York & Shanghai, and Industrial Pack Atlanta, with plenty more in the pipeline.
Matt Benyon, Managing Director of Easyfairs UK & Global, comments: “I am delighted that we are attracting such high calibre people and great talent to our team. Alison, James, Adrian and Laurent all bring a wealth of experience and insight that can really add value to our existing events and also our plans for new launches! We are in a really exciting period of expansion, and we need great people to help us deliver great events. As such, we are in the midst of a heavy recruitment drive; each week seems to bring a new face to the office!”
