Creative communications agency drp held their annual summer conference at the Centaur Conference centre at Cheltenham Racecourse, on Thursday 19th July. The day and evening event was attended by the drpteam, to celebrate the agency’s success and exciting growth plans for the future.

The conference was filled with company updates including drp’s financial target progress, reflection on what has been one of the busiest times to date for drp, creating inevitable growth and expansion in the business. The agency also celebrated, reaching a record number of 277 team members.

CEO Dale Parmenter commented, “We have employed over 70 new team members since our last summer conference. With such massive growth, this year, it is so important to take stock and ensure that the team are fully aligned with our culture and plans for the future, which include more acquisitions, new concept developments and another significant building expansion.”

The day also included a review of successes so far this year, alongside a silent disco style ‘speed dating’ session with the senior teams. For an external perspective, a panel of key clients gave their honest feedback on performance and what improvements and innovations they would like to see drp make in the future. This led into an interactive session focusing on the ‘anything’s possible’ culture, that was designed to re-enforce and strengthen the way the team operate and engage with clients.

Another pivotal moment was a display of fast-moving solutions-based series of presentations, which included the official launch of the drpAcademy. A panel of drp team members who are at different stages in their career development opened the session to give an inspirational view of their experiences. Jez Light, head of Learning and Development, launched a range of programmes and career development initiatives for the team to use and utilise to further their careers.

In the evening a fun team ‘Cheltenham Challenge’ saw 32 teams follow clues and enjoy the hospitality of the spa town. Back at the racecourse a free and easy evening saw food, drinks and entertainment provided by the Jockey Club, before retiring to the Cheltenham Chase and Doubletree hotels.

“Our annual conference is an opportunity to gather all team members in one place to share further insight and reflect on the business and discuss our extraordinary growth. The drpteam have reached a record number of employees this year, and it was only right that this success was celebrated”, says Parmenter.

Dale added, “Our conference is a great platform to drive forward the future of drp and reenergise and refocus the team in preparation for the rest of the year in order to achieve our end goal of being that company of choice which is vital as we head towards a £30M turnover by the end of 2018”.
