At last week’s 6th Annual Event Technology Awards, Reggie Aggarwal, CEO and Founder of Cvent, received the award for Outstanding Contribution to Event Technology.

A new addition to the 2018 ceremony, the Outstanding Contribution award was chosen by the Event Technology Awards co-founder Adam Parry.   The awards ceremony took place at East London’s Troxy and welcomed event professionals from around the globe.

During his opening speech, Adam explained why he had selected the Cvent founder:

“I thought long and hard about the possible names and spent time considering their achievements. Reggie has built a global reputation for himself, but more importantly for his company, taking Cvent from a start-up and expanding it to become one of the world’s largest event technology suppliers.”

Reggie Aggarwal commenting on the award:

“I am truly honoured to receive the award for ‘Outstanding Contribution’ to the event technology industry and I am even more honoured to be the first-ever recipient of this award. Cvent came to life because we knew there had to be a better way to manage and organise events. Now, almost 20 years later, our nearly 4,000 Cventers around the globe continue to bring creative ideas to help us drive the innovation curve. We take great pride in being one of the companies leading the event technology revolution, and this award is hopefully a reflection of our passion and dedication to transforming the meetings and events industry.

Five years ago, we opened our first European office here in London, and it is now our headquarters for the entire European market. I am really proud of my UK team and the impact they have made to our industry in just five years. The reality is, my European team should be up here, and not me, getting this award.

In the meantime, the meetings and events industry is booming and we’re proud to be one of the companies leading the way.”
