Venue Search London, a free venue finding agency, have just published the results of their first London Christmas Party survey, highlighting the latest trends amongst over 250 corporate Christmas Party buyers inside the M25 which is now available for free download.
The survey, which was undertaken in April in partnership with The London Christmas Party Show, indicates the strength of the market with 93% of buyers having booked or had approval for their 2017 party and 29% of buyers anticipating an increase in guest numbers.
Average spend per head was £86 +VAT, but there was considerable variation in budgets with 28% of buyers spending over £100 +VAT per guest in 2016.
The enduring popularity of holding London Christmas parties on Thursday and Friday nights is also evident with 78% of evening parties opting for these peak nights. “This creates a real challenge for both buyers and venues”, comments Venue Search London MD, Rosalind Shelley.
“With most companies looking to book the four key dates in the middle of December, venues must discount their prices to attract more shoulder and off-peak day parties and buyers should look to these Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the best value”.
There is also an increasing trend towards buyers using a free venue finder or agency, with a 50% growth in companies using third party expertise in planning and delivering these events.
