As part of the Fast Forward 15 (FF15) events industry initiative, which sees fifteen women selected onto a years’ one-to-one mentoring programme, the 2018 mentees have been tasked with arranging a charity event from scratch, with no allocated budget. Today, the mentees have announced that Fast Forward Fiesta – a stylish evening of fun for the events industry – will be held at 7pm on Thursday 28th February 2019 at Sheraton Grand London Park Lane.

The event promises an evening full of; games; prizes, including an overnight stay at Chewton Glen Hotel and Spa, and two tickets to Goodwood’s Festival of Speed; as well as networking in a room full of key industry figures over drinks and appetisers.  Sheraton Grand London Park Lane has kindly donated The Tudor Rose room for the event, which can accommodate up to 250 people.

The event will raise money for Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, a cause dedicated to women, their families and friends affected by cervical cancer and cervical abnormalities. Stress is believed to increase the risk of contracting HPV which subsequently raises a woman’s chance of suffering from cervical cancer. Working in one of the most stress-inducing industries, according to CareersCast, the FF15 mentees wanted to support a charity that raises awareness of the potential dangers of being consistently stressed, and support those looking to find a cure for cervical cancer. Half of all money raised for the event will go towards the cause, with the remaining half being reinvested back into the FF15 programme to ensure the legacy continues.

Tickets for the event are now on sale, with a super early bird offer running until December 21st for £15pp. An early bird offer will then apply until January 17th for £17pp and tickets thereafter will cost £18pp. Ticket prices include entry, a drinks reception, nibbles and entertainment throughout the evening.

Robert Music, Chief Executive, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust: “We are extremely grateful to 2018 mentees for choosing to fundraise for us. Cervical cancer affects women of all ages, yet we want to make it a disease of the past and the money raised at this event will enable us to get even closer to that day. We wish them all the best for the event!”

Fay Sharpe, Founder of FF15 commented: ‘The charity event is a chance for the mentees to secure the legacy of the programme and to donate towards a women’s charity of their choice. I’m proud of what they’ve achieved so far, and this is set to be a fun-filled evening where the events industry can get together to network and enjoy an evening of entertainment. I look forward to seeing you all there!’
