East London independent venue, Troxy, has won the Best Awards Ceremony Venue at the inaugural National Venue Awards, which was hosted at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Club in Manchester.

The 1930s art deco venue made an impressive submission, highlighting the versatility of the space, which is renowned as a live music venue as well as a space for corporate celebrations, sporting events, and of course awards. Some of the notable ceremonies have included The Kerrang Awards, D&AD Awards, NME Awards, The Unsigned Music Awards, Women’s Sports Trust #BeAGameChanger Awards and most recently the BAFTA Games Awards.

The National Venue Awards Judging Panel 2018 commented on the submission, stating: “A great submission demonstrating a high-quality flexible venue. Troxy is an independent and versatile venue that has been used for many types of award ceremonies, of which they gave some good examples. We really liked the fact this venue has an interesting and iconic history and they articulate the development of the building very well.”

Daniel Smith, Head of Sales and Events, says: “We’re delighted to be awarded Best Awards Ceremony Venue and proud that our work across multiple awards events has been acknowledged. The incredible team at Troxy who make these events run like clockwork deserve recognition in this award too. The team and I do our upmost to ensure the vision of the event organisers can be realised within this stunning venue and we genuinely feel lucky to come to work every day in this amazing and historic event space. With our continued success in attracting high profile organisations for awards events, such as our recent work with BAFTA, we feel confident Troxy will continue to be home to many stand out events in the coming year and beyond.”

This win for Troxy comes off the back of a number of other award wins for the venue in 2017, including Best London Event Space at the London Venue Awards and Venue Team of the Year at The Event Awards.
