The sharing of photos is something that has been promoted by event organisers ever since social media exploded into our lives via smartphones. However, to see that related content, hashtags have been the most common way of seeing what other guests or attendees have been up to.

With Eventer – a platform launched in January 2017 – that process becomes easier and more secure.

The service was born out of a different app that the Eventer developers were working on called Otofuro. Its point was to automatically edit a video using pictures from a person’s gallery and a song from a person’s library. The developers knew that for it to work, they needed a separate tool to collect all that content. After some research, they were unable to find an efficient app that could perform the functions they wanted. This lead to the creation of Eventer. The developers later realised that people needed a solution like Eventer more than the original video editing system.

The finished platform allows users access to a dedicated Eventer area that is specifically for the event they are attending. This means that whether it’s a wedding, conference, party, trade show or concert, everyone with access to that event’s Eventercan see all the pictures and video that was shared by other guests or attendees.

Freemium and Premium versions are available, with the former generally targeted towards consumer users, and the latter suitable for professional event organisers. The major benefit of using the Eventer platform is that users can see the content generated by other users, but without their personal contact information having to be shared as it would with platforms like WhatsApp.
