When the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Foundation chose Paris as the host city for its 2025 Jamboree, it set the stage for one of Europe’s largest and most complex scientific gatherings. Delivering the physical infrastructure for such an event would require speed, precision, and global coordination — and that’s where T3 Systems stepped in.
The result? A record-breaking modular installation spanning over 5 kilometres of T3 framework, installed in just two days at Porte de Versailles, Paris — proving that intelligent design and modular innovation can power large-scale events across borders.
A Design Born in London, Built in Paris
The project began in London, where T3 Systems’ design and engineering teams developed a fully modular plan to transform an empty exhibition hall into a network of 220 individual booths, a Community Rectangle, and a Merchandise Shop.
Each element was engineered for rapid assembly and seamless audiovisual integration. Once the design was finalised, it crossed the Channel — and within 48 hours, a seven-person installation team in Paris brought the concept to life.
“This project shows what can be achieved when cross-border collaboration meets modular technology,” said a Chris Wilks Design Manager for T3 Systems. “Our UK and French teams worked as one, delivering a complex infrastructure with speed, precision, and zero compromise on quality.”

Sustainability at Scale
Beyond its impressive scope and pace, sustainability was central to the project’s success.
T3 Systems’ modular framework is entirely reusable, allowing every aluminium profile and panel to be redeployed for future events. The lightweight design also reduces transport emissions, while the zero-tool assembly system ensures fast, low-impact installation and dismantling.
For iGEM, which celebrates innovation and sustainability within science and education, the modular approach aligned perfectly with its ethos. The build achieved zero material waste, minimal packaging, and full reusability — setting a new benchmark for eco-responsible event construction.

Speed, Simplicity, and Scale
Despite the event’s complexity, T3 Systems completed the installation in just two working days — a feat that would be almost impossible using traditional custom builds.
The 186 integrated monitors were coordinated in partnership with AV suppliers, ensuring the event’s global participants could present their projects in an interactive, technology-driven environment.
The project stands as Europe’s largest T3 installation to date, and it highlights the company’s transition from stand builder to complete event infrastructure partner.

A Three-Year Partnership and a Happy Client
This project forms part of a three-year collaboration between T3 Systems and the iGEM Foundation.
The partnership reflects T3’s growing reputation as a trusted European supplier capable of delivering full-scale modular environments for high-profile international events.
“The feedback from iGEM has been fantastic,” said the T3 Systems project team. “They were delighted with how fast the space came together — and even more impressed by how simple it will be to reuse and expand the system for future Jamborees.”
