Arena and Historic Royal Palaces are partnering once again, with the return of ice skating this winter at the Tower of London, 16 November to 5 January 2020, and Hampton Court Palace, 22 November to 5 January 2020. This is the fourth season that the event supplier and independent charity are coming together to host these much-loved festive ice rinks.

Arena supplies a full turnkey service to Historic Royal Palaces, providing fully managed ice rinks for both locations including temporary structures, skate hire, staffing, food and beverage, and sales and marketing.

Visitors can skate back in time, enjoying the remarkable backdrop of Hampton Court Palace –King Henry VIII’s former home –before enjoying some hearty food options at the Ice Rink Café Bar as part of a fun day out for the whole family.

The Tower of London Ice Rink is located in the dry moat of the iconic 1,000-year-old fortress, nestled in the heart of the capital. Visitors have access to a larger rink this year for more room to skate, complemented by an array of drinks and festive snacks available to purchase at the onsite café.

“It’s the classic festive family activity, and this year, we have diversified the experience with the launch of a Prosecco and Skate package at both venues, and extended opening hours at Hampton Court Palace, re-enforcing its attractiveness as a wintertime activity to enjoy with family and friends.”

Liz Young,Head of Events and Commercial Services at Historic Royal Palaces, said: “We look forward to working with Arena to deliver another exciting season of ice skating at the palaces. The Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace Ice Rinks are a fantastic platform to showcase our stunning locations, steeped in history, to our domestic and international visitors during the busy festive period.”

As well as the two Historic Royal Palace sites, Arena delivers three further managed rinks at The North Pole Cambridge, Liverpool Ice Festival and Skate Manchester Cathedral Gardens. This adds to Arena’s portfolio of more than 25 ice rinks supplied and installed across the UK every year.
