Arena Birmingham recently marked its 25th anniversary of hosting the prestigious Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships.

Following five days of badminton action earlier this month (14 – 18 March), the Championship’s Chief Executive, Adrian Christy, and the President of Yonex, Mr Hayashida, were each presented with a commemorative gift from the Arena.

Phil Mead, Managing Director for NEC Group Arenas said: “We have a fantastic relationship with Badminton England, and to be in our third decade of hosting what is the world’s oldest badminton tournament, is a phenomenal achievement for both venue and the city of Birmingham. These Championships continue to be a highlight in our sporting calendar, and I look forward to their return in forthcoming years.”

The 2018 Championships will return annually to the venue until at least 2021.
