Over 300 industry professionals gathered together at this year’s AEO Forums which was held at BDC, London on Friday. Marketing, Ops and Sales specialists from across the events industry attended the Forums to learn about the latest techniques, challenges and opportunities relevant to their roles.

Chris Skeith, Chief Executive of AEO, says: “We had a fantastic day at the Forums, it was great to see such enthusiasm from the delegates who attended. There were lots of great speakers covering a vast range of topics to keep everyone engaged. The content was put together from feedback we received following last year’s Marketing and Ops Forums so relevant to the delegates individual roles.

“One addition to the programme this year was that we launched a Sales Forum. This was something our members requested because they felt the Forums was a great place to learn and network with their peers. We were expecting it to be popular and it ended up being as well attended as the marketing and ops streams which we are delighted with, particularly as it was the first time we’ve held it.

Here is some of the feedback received from this year’s delegates:

AEO Marketing Forum

The speaker content was excellent, I learned a lot and as a newcomer to my role that was very important.

The AEO marketing forum had relevant content – focussing on data and a customer journey which we know as a company is important to us.

It was interesting to hear about the new data rules in more detail, and thought some of the speakers were very good, especially the second session by Grant Leboff.

AEO Ops Forum

Use of the interactive system on the app was excellent to keep audience engagement high.

I was really impressed with the new approach the Chair devised for these sessions.

They were interesting, informative and really brought the subject matter to life! More of the same next year.

The session on disabilities was really useful, and I can take away some learnings to improve our DDA at our events

Sales Forum

The whole day was thought provoking and addressed sales from an angle I haven’t used recently.

I think it is a well-organised event, the sales forum in particular I really enjoyed as it had a theme running through and picked up some really valuable, new tips rather than being told the same thing RE sales. Most of the speakers made it fun too and were really enthusiastic.

I attended as a sceptic but found the whole event very refreshing and left suitably enthused!
