The 2019 Academic Venue Solutions (AVS) Showcase took place on the 19 March at the ILEC Centre, London.

Academic venues have earned a reputation for great value, by providing first-class facilities and services at very competitive rates. Visitors to the Showcase had a diverse range of academic venues at their fingertips with cutting-edge technology, high-quality facilities and award-winning catering. The supreme collection of venues had a range of eye-catching stands that featured the unique and inspiring spaces available for a variety of events.

Other highlights from the day included a VIP Meeting Hub where planners could have one-to-one meetings with venues. A gin reception hosted by Liverpool, as well as VR experiences with Exeter and Salford, to name but a few.

This year’s educational programme touched on some of the latest trends and hot topics including a panel discussion hosted by PA Life which provided tips on creating standout events. Other sessions included a great insight into food and beverage trends led by Mark Cooper from IACC. Katie Crocombe from 52eight3 looked at how to find the right event tech supplier. Ian Kelsall from insight6 talked about how to deliver a memorable customer experience, and finally Matt Fabyonic from Glisser wrapped up the day with an insight into measuring event return on investment.

Natalie Williamson, General Manager, Academic Venue Solutions said: “We were thrilled to welcome event professionals to the event, which provided a fantastic opportunity to discover new and inspiring spaces. We’ve received some positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike, thank you to everyone involved for making the day a success.”
